Brittany Gibbons and her partner had been together for a very long time indeed and had three children. Sometime just after the third child Brittany looked in the bathroom mirror and couldn’t recognize herself.
She thought, “Who let my mom in here?” She was completely destroyed by the way that she felt. She understood that she wanted to get her confidence in who she was back and so she devised a plan to do just that.
- The decision
Brittany was certain that she needed to be confident in her body and see that her husband loved her body too. So she pledged to have sex with him every single day for 365 days.
- No day offs
And she made sure they stuck to the pledge every single day. Even on her periods, it wouldn’t matter and there would be no breaks. She decided that her children could spend some quality time with each other and that they would not come between her and husband too.
- The self-image troubles
But still she needed to understand the storm inside her that made her doubt herself, “As the years went by, the absence of my naked body began to worry me. Did my husband, Andy, even know what I looked like naked anymore? Could he draw a nude picture of me that didn’t also have a giant duvet over my body or a Spanx seam running vertically down my stomach?”
- Going nude
Sex would happen but Brittany also resolved that she would no longer turn the lights off for sex, she would stop hiding her body away from him in loose-fitting garments, and that she would begin to shower with him and share the bathroom with him again. It was a whole nude party!
In the beginning, Brittany says the sex felt like a duty, but as the months passed by, she began to enjoy it and to look forward to it. She found that the more sex she had, the more sex she wanted, and the couple found themselves at the most intimate time in their whole married lives.
- The results
So Brittany and her husband did complete the full 365 days and they’re still doing it now. Brittany says that this experiment has brought her closer and she’s never been happier with her body than she is today. It’s a pledge that she recommends for anyone in a loving relationship.
