90-year-old woman lives alone after son dies, asks neighbors to be her friend with tearful note
This Emotional Letter By A 90-Year-Old Will Tear Your Heart
Marleen Brooks noticed a letter upon returning from work one day and when she opened the letter she saw something that was very rare, it was a letter from an old lady who lived at the end of the street. Now, you might say what’s rare in that, well, wait until you read the complete story and the letter.
The letter read: The letter read: “Would you consider to become my friend. I’m 90 years old- live alone. All my friends have passed away. I’m so lonesome and scared. Please I pray for someone.”
Marleen turned up at Wanda’s house the following day with cupcakes and introduced herself and the two had a wonderful evening and got to know each other.
Marleen then contacted a man called Frank Somerville, who worked in KTVU News to tell him her story.
“She’s such a sweet lady, and she was over the moon when we came over,” she wrote.
“Wanda said – ‘I hope you didn’t think I was stupid for writing you, but I had to do something. Thank you so much for coming over. I’ve lived here for 50 years and don’t know any of my neighbors,’” she continued.”
Wanda had three sons, however, one of them is no more and the two sons live far away. She is on oxygen and has congestive heart failure and osteoporosis. Marleen became good friends with Wanda and told her that she can call her anytime and assured her that she will visit again.
“I’m sure Wanda and I will have some great times,” she wrote.
The story has become a sensation on social media and very rightly so.
