Domestic violence is more common than we think it is and is not only exclusive to married households. It can take a number of forms including physical, emotional, verbal, economic and sexual abuse, which can range from subtle, forcible forms to marital rape and to violent physical abuse that results in disfigurement or death. Sadly, in our world today, many women, And also men suffer from domestic violence.
Ruth Leslie from Dallas, Texas finally revealed her ordeal and shared her terrifying experience in the hands of her boyfriend and his mother on Facebook.
According to her, her boyfriend unexpectedly accused her of cheating on him, and started becoming violent towards her. The physical abuse wasn’t single-handedly done by her boyfriend however, as his mother joined him in abusing Ruth.
Ruth says she wasn’t surprised when she was physically abused by the family, as they treated each other the same. Small family disputes often turn into violent fights.
Towards the end of her post, she said that this kind of abuse should never be tolerated. It is never okay to be abused in any way, especially by people who supposedly love you.

Domestic violence can take place in heterosexual or same-sex relationships and is a pattern of behavior which comprises violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic context, such as in marriage or living together. Intimate partner violence is domestic violence against a spouse or other intimate partner.
