The Khalifa stadium is all to set to be the coolest open-air venue in the world. The first completed venue for the 2022 FIFA world cup possesses innovative cooling technology that uses 40 percent less energy than conventional systems, making it the coolest open air venue in the world.
The temperature in the field as well as the spectator arena will be 26C. New roof covers the seating area and air-cooling systems is in place for the field of play and all the spectator areas.
“We have designed the cooling technology at Khalifa International Stadium to be energy efficient, and fully compliant to the SC standards in terms of field of play and spectator seating area temperatures will reach 26 degrees centigrade,” said Dr Saud Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani, Professor at the College of Engineering at Qatar University.
