Tips To Beat Heat Woes At Work

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) released an advisory in public interest which gives some tips to beat heat stress at work. It titled “Protect yourself at work” and was published via twitter in Arabic, English and Malayalam language.

“Drink cool water every 15 minutes. Avoid tea, coffee, energy drinks and soft drinks,” the advisory said, noting that people should also schedule more frequent breaks during work.
The ministry stressed that one should “eat right, eat light” in such conditions.
“Wear light, loose clothing,” the advisory further said, reminding that workers should keep their heads covered when outdoors.

The advisory came in the wake of a 44C that was recorded in the country yesterday at Batna. A maximum of 43C is expected today in Al Khor followed by 41C in Doha and 40C in Mesaieed and Wakrah.

Strong winds and high sees towards the north at times in offshore areas was also forecasted by the Met department. The wind speed might clock up to 23 knots with sea level rising to 7ft.

Inshore, hazy conditions are expected in some places in the early hours, followed by a hot day with slight to blowing dust at times and some clouds.
