Pastor Donates Kidney To Man He Just Met, But During Transplant Doctors Stop In Their Tracks

People often say that being at the right place at the right time changed their life. Well, this is one such story which brought two men together who would become a part of their life forever.

Don Herbert and his wife where on a lookout for yard sales when they heard an amazing gospel music coming from a nearby church, the music was so divine that it attracted Don towards it. There he met Pastor Tim Jones.

Both loved music and when Don shared with Pastor Tim about his singing quartet, he invited him to sing in an upcoming revival.

Pastor discovered that Don was suffering from a life threatening health condition and he even underwent a liver transplant surgery just before they met. Unfortunately, he then started to suffer from a kidney failure.

He always had faith in good in spite of all the trouble he had gone through. “I had a strong faith that God was going to take care of me no matter what happened,” said Don.

Don needed a cardiac catheterization as doctors found blockages in the heart. The couple were informed that the kidneys were so weak that it would not sustain a surgery and they also revealed that it would take upto seven years to find a kidney donor.

“I can’t believe that God’s brought me through this major transplant, and now here I am, facing something like this,” Don recounted.

Immediately, a message was posted on Facebook by his wife Belinda:

“I am willing to be the donor but I do not have insurance coverage and we can not afford it. It is so hard to ask something so tremendous and so humbling but I want the man I love to live a long life. I do want to grow old with him by my side. I am asking for help! If anyone would be interested in being the donor or help organize fundraisers or donate to raise funds to purchase insurance for me just long enough to get through the testing please message me.”

Pastor who saw the post was moved and decided to offer a kidney and the results were perfectly matching – a one in 20,000 chance!

But the biggest miracle occurred on the day of surgery. When doctors went to remove Tim’s kidney they discovered he had an aneurysm, which if left unnoticed would have killed him.

This rare incident on the day saved both their life. Pastor Tim’s selflessness to give his kidney to a man he had only known two weeks also saved his own life!
