The Met department of Qatar has said that windy and hot conditions in the country is likely to continue today. The weather forecast shows strong winds and high seas.
The Met department had said on Sunday that northwesterly windy conditions – locally called AlBawari – were expected to continue until the weekend. Tempeartures are expected to cross mid-40C.
The detailed forecast for today says it will be hot during the daytime and slight to blowing dust is expected in some inshore areas. The wind speed will be 17-27 knots, meanwhile visibility might drop to 2 km.
Offshore, dusty conditions are likely at times and the wind speed will be 17-27 knots, reaching a high of 35 knots in some places, with the sea level rising to 11ft. Al khor, Mesaieed and Wakrah can expect 45C.
People have been warned not to venture into the sea as well as exposure to direct sunlight.
