The woman from Nottingham revealed that she has been battling for authorities to take action for four years after the discovery.
While speaking to BBC, she revealed that on the day of the alleged incident, she had opened her son’s nappy to find him ‘covered in blood’.
When he was circumcised in July 2013, he used to stay with his paternal grandparents.
The police is still investigating the case and last week only they have arrested three people, including a 47-year-old woman and two men aged 44 and 61.
Speaking to the BBC, the mum said: ‘I opened the nappy and I ended up having to leave the room because I felt hysterical. It was just awful really, it wasn’t very nice, there was all blood there and stuff.’
He was just three-months-old at the time of the circumcision.
In 2014, the child mother called the social services, but the incident was allegedly ‘not deemed to be a criminal matter.’
The case was referred to the General Medical Council.
The child’s mother had tried her best to pushed the authorities and raised the question why ‘male genital mutilation’ is not being viewed in the same way as female genital mutilation.
After human rights lawyer Saimo Chahal QC wrote to them, Nottinghamshire Police reopened the investigation.
The mother said: ‘It’s even illegal to dock dogs’ tails. I’ve come home crying my eyes out thinking a dog has got more rights than my child. There’s something seriously not right with it all. You can protect a dog, you can protect a girl, but not a boy.’
After the incident the child has allegedly been riddled with infections, and his penis regularly swells and becomes sore.
She said: ‘It looks like he’s been half circumcised is the only way to describe it. There’s half the skin, it’s not all the way over. It swells up, it gets red and a little bit sore in places.’
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: ‘Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding a circumcision conducted on a child in July 2013 have arrested three people.
A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
‘A 44-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
‘Our enquiries are ongoing.’
All three have been released pending further investigation.
