People just love celebrities and all they need is the happiness of their stars. Some fans even follow their stars and try to be just like as their idols and that is why it becomes imperative for celebrities to put up a good show.
Now, let us take a look at Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson’s case. She grabbed limelight with her show which showcases dysfunctional relations of families, and what impact it had on their day to day lives.
The show presented parents and young children involved in the beauty pageant business. Luckily, Honey Boo Boo was an instant hit on Toddlers and Tiaras. She became so popular that she even managed to get her own series on TLC.
On August 8, 2012, we were introduced to series called “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” the series followed the six-year-old and her parents and her three sisters; Lauryn or “Pumpkin,” Jessica or “Chubbs” and Anna or “Chickadee.” Other than that the premise of the show was pretty much of any reality show.As everyone already knew, their family was an emotional train wreck, and it was all on screen for the pleasure of millions of people. 2.25 million Viewers in the first day it aired to be exact.
She was watched by nearly 3 million people by the second season. The final episode of the season accumulated 3.21 million views. The finale of the second season titled “Happily Ever After?”Mama June, Alana’s mother and her boyfriend “Sugar Bear” seemingly tie the knot and officially became a family.
Things were looking pretty set for the family, with a single episode bringing them $50,000 and the ratings were soaring to new heights. But, all good things must come to an end and in Alana’s case things changed for the worse in 2014.
TLC had announced that there would be a third season, along with a few books for Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. However, Mama June was embroiled in a controversy after it was revealed that she dated a man convicted of child molestation, Mark Anthony McDaniel.
The negativity drove TLC to call the show off leaving a lot of shows unaired. Though, the family could have easily got another gig on TV, it was not possible because of the contract with TLC. The agreement did not allow the family to appear on air for months unless it was with TLC.
However, as things started to calm down, the family came back to small screen in February 2015. They appeared on ‘The Doctors. As a special guest on the show. This time people were surprised to see Alana who had clearly gained weight.
Luckily, she is back to her best now and we are pleased to tell you so. The show was a health intervention for Alana. The doctors hoped to put the former reality star on a diet. They were hoping that they could help her get her weight back to down to something more suitable for her age and height.
Alana worked out hard to ensure she led a healthy lifestyle. We must say that her hard work didn’t let her down as she is in a really good shape now after losing almost 25 pounds.
In an interview that Alana gave to Inside Edition, she talked about what it was like to have her live change so drastically. According to her;“I woke up one day, and I asked my mum ‘Where’s the crew?’ And she was like, ‘There isn’t a show anymore. ’”To her surprise, she enjoyed the time off from the cameras.
Though, she is happy with her normal life, she keeps in touch with her fans on social media. As for their return to TLC, well that looks highly unlikely as the network has filed a law suit against the family for breaking their former contract. Nonetheless, we are glad that the young star is happy and that she has found peace in her new way of living. And with losing all that weight, you have to say that she does look like a model.
Well, we must say that it is pretty decent makeover after what she went through, and remember she was involved in something that she had no idea.
