Passengers Decide To Skip Flight As They Could Not Stop Themselves from Seeing A Magical Moment While Service Dog Delivered Eight Puppies At Tampa Bay Airport
In a rare incident, passengers and employees of Tampa International Airport witness a heart touching incident in which a service dog gave birth to eight puppies. The puppies were delivered just before the dog could board the plane.
The sight was so moving that some passengers opted to skip their flights just to savour the moment as they could not take their eyes off.
Eleanor “Ellie” Rigby is a two-year-old golden retriever was all set to accompany her owner, Diane Van Atter, in her trip to Philadelphia, but things changed when Ellie went into labor.
However, it remains to be known as to why the airport authorities allowed the dog to travel despite her condition.
According to Emily Nipps, a senior communications manager for Tampa International Airport, a nurse in the crowd helped Ellie deliever the puppies. However, after delivering five of them, the nurse had to leave to catch her flight.
Lt. Natalie Brown of the Aircraft Rescue Firefighters (ARFF), was the first person to respond when they informed of the situation. According to her, shat she witnessed was simply a magical moment.
She said: “My partner and I jumped in the rescue car. By the time we got to the air site, two puppies had already been born. I got my (obstetrics and gynecology) kit. I wanted to move the dog to a quitter area, but the owner was concerned about moving her so I said, ‘No problem.’ It was an incredible moment.”
She also described the moment as ‘magical’. Along with the crowd, Golden Nugget, the father of the puppies who was also set to travel with Van Atter, also looked delighted over the birth of his new babies, which included seven male and one female pup.
