A woman in Brazil had a seriously bizarre issue as she was born without vagina. She became the first person to have vagina transplant made of fish skin. Now, the 23-year-old can finally have s*x with her boyfriend.
She is relieved that she can now make love to her boyfriend as it is very important in a relationship. Apart, from that the transplant was also necessary for reproduction.
Jucilene Marinho was diagnosed with Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH), a condition where a woman is born without ovaries, uterus, the cervix and vagina. Luckily, the doctors were successful in performing the ground-breaking procedure called neovaginoplasty for the first time.
The procedure involves creating a vagina out of skin. The surgery took place at the Federal University of Ceara.
Understandably, she once suffered from depression because she thought she will never have an intimate relationship. However, the surgery changed everything and now she is satisfied.
She said: “It was a wonderful moment because everything worked perfectly. There was no pain just a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction.”
In spite of her condition, she had a normal childhood. In fact, she got to know about her condition only when she was 15 years old. Though, she suffered from menstrual cramps during her puberty, she never experienced having a period.
Although she will never have kids, she is happy with the results of the surgery. The tilapia skin of fish acts like stem cells and becomes cellular tissue that forms the walls of the canal after coming in contact with the body.
