A woman in the US was arrested after she allegedly shot at her boyfriend for snoring too loud. Lorie Morin, 47, was accused of attempted murder and after her boyfriend was rushed to hospital.
The victim, named as Brett Allgood, had to be airlifted from home. According to police he is now in stable condition.
The cops initially thought the shooting was accidental, after Morin told them she was just passing the gun to the victim when it went off. However, when the officers spoke to the man, he revealed that they had an argument over his snoring, which had escalated.
He also informed that the pair were drinking and playing cards before the incident. The victim explained that as they argued, he walked into the bedroom where Morin followed and shot him.
It reads: “He heard a loud boom and woke up lying in a pool of blood with excruciating pain coming from his right armpit area.”
After the victim spoke to police, Morin was re-interviewed and reportedly ‘changed her story’.
The affidavit continues: “It should be noted that while Ms. Morin was in the interview room, she attempted to show emotion by covering her face with her hands and crying, but she never shed a tear the entire time during any of the interviews.”
A neighbour said: “I’ve talked to her a couple times and she’s always been really nice, and so the news is kind of shocking on it, honestly.
“To hear that it was over him snoring is kind of shocking. It’s kind of crazy.”
Another said: “It’s so stupid, so bizarre that I can’t imagine that kind of behaviour.”
Another neighbour who saw the arrest told reporters: “They must have been waiting for her. She pulled in, and then all the cars came rushing out of every direction.”
Morin is currently being held in Brevard County jail without bond.
