The one game that has taken over the world in recent times is ‘PUBG’. People have literally gone crazy and you can see youngsters glued to their mobile screen just because of the game. Naturally, the addiction has not gone down too well with parents and many of them want to get rid of the game.

However, for parents in Nepal, things have materialized as the government has decided to ban the game. The authorities have restricted the downloading of the game in order to protect children and young people.

“We received a number of complaints from parents, schools and school associations regarding the effect of the game on children,” senior superintendent of police Dhiraj Pratap Singh told. “We also held discussions with psychiatrists before requesting the Kathmandu District Court for permission to ban the game.”

Earlier, Gujarat, an Indian state, had banned the game. But the ban was lifted soon. Even China had banned the game in October 2017, though an altered version was released by Tencent.

“Parents and schools had complained that the game was affecting their children’s studies and making them more aggressive. When we consulted with psychiatrists, they also said that the violence in the game can make people aggressive in real life,” Singh added.

So, what do you think? Should it be banned?
