Looks like we are in for some entertainment in the coming days as there are quite a few exciting things coming up. Especially, the social media campaigns are getting weird with each passing day. People are still not over the ‘Storm Area 51’ campaign and there is already another group that is catching up.
The Facebook group called ‘The Sesh’ has started a campaign that encourages people to leave work and go to beer garden. According to the page, the event will be taking place on 19 August. Currently, there are 15 k members who said they will be going to the event, with another 56k telling they are ‘interested’ in the event.
They call it ‘Leave work and go the beer garden, they can’t sack all of us’. And as the title clearly states, ‘they’ – which is presumably a similar entity to ‘the man’ – can’t sack the entire workforce.
One user commented: “The revolution starts here,” while another said: “I’m down. LET’S STAND FOR OUR RIGHTS!”
Some are even resorting to peer pressure to get their mates to join in, with someone commenting: “Soft s***e, you haven’t even got it in you.”
Meanwhile, one person cheekily pointed: “You’re kinda forgetting something here. You are encouraging everyone to leave work early and sit in a pub garden….
“WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PUB STAFF TAKE YOU UP ON YOUR OFFER.”
So, what’s your take on the whole issue?
