Filipino Catriona Gray’s was recently crowned Miss Universe 2018 and looks like she was preparing for the moment from a very young age. She got noticed when she joined Miss World Philippines in 2016.

But the Miss Universe moment gave her plenty of attention from all around and people just can’t get enough of her. As people started to dig for more information about the reigning Miss Universe, they found that she had it in her from an early age.

She joined Miss Philippines in Sydney, Australia in 1999 and even won the pageant at the age of five. She had shared her throwback image in May 2016.

She said: “Relived a few childhood memories today going through some old photos! Always being a goofball and posing for pictures even then! And how cute was I in my first #LittleMissPhilippines pageant at 5 years old? ….perhaps 17 years is a long enough time to wait…?”

However, the fans have dug out photos that even the Miss Universe has never seen before. Naturally, the 24-year-old TV host, singer, model, actress was surprised and asked, “How did you guys find this? I’ve never seen this picture before. You guys are P.I. (Private Investigator) detective levels!!!” and then added a “mindblown” emoji.

The top three contestants were asked the same question by host Steve Harvey: “What is the most important lesson you’ve learned and how will you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?”

Catriona answered: “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is poor and very sad. And I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it and to look in the beauty of the faces of the children and to be grateful. And I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson. And this I think if I could teach also people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children will have a smile on their faces.”
